Capisce 2010

2010 has been a tumbling roller coaster ride for me. It started well; new friends, I discovered I love cooking, completed my graduate study and traveled around central Europe and my dad's visit. It has been an enriching experiences for life.

Then the coaster started to hit the bottom with the first illegal accusation I ever experienced in life. However I thank you darling to stay by my side in rough time. You are my best friend above anything else.

And I still thank God even with all this drama because I believe only ugly experience that could make us stronger and better.

Welcome 2011, hopefully you will be a productive year to become...

The Price of Being Too Naive

If the world is like a huge sports field, I'd like to think that I am one of those players that like to play games nicely. Well in fair, it might because my lack of talent to become an actress. Too straightforward, too brutal and blunt to pretentiously say things I don't really mean. I am a writer yes, and a writer is an actress who does different character on their fiction. Yes. But I also loathed woman who likes to play game, who foresee other women as their competitors they must beat in order to able feel good about themselves. However, since living in Maastricht I felt that MOST WOMEN view the world as a field of competition and man is their trophy, they must win the best one amongst the men but can't stand other woman who does. Where does this come from? Insecurity. A necessity to become popular amongst group of friend. Does that even more important than genuine sincerity?

I like to think that I am a supportive person that like to see others do well as I do. Mainly because I am confident with own talent, my ability, my strength. In junior school I was surprised to find that my other classmates had been cheating on tests. And even after I knew and I had been too lazy to study the night before tests, I never been followed their footsteps. Or you could really count on half hand when I did exchange answer with my fellow classmates.

My dad used to say; don't think negative, be kind even to to people who treats you less(kind). Well I do a little bit negative when it comes to his little entourage (but honestly, who would not be???). But sometimes I think I am little bit my dad's daughter in this side and look what happened to me now...

This world after all, is a wild jungle.

The Box I called H-O-M-E

Avant Garde building room number 521, Vijvardale 2, 6224 NB, Maastricht - Netherlands. Cheap room, temporarily without internet connection, own bathroom & toilet & terrible share kitchen (took me two hours to clean the bathroom and toilet alone, and until now never cook in the kitchen. Lesson learned: never ever take over a room that used to be a man).

When I was little kid I worship BOBO magazine. In my opinion it is the best children magazine in Indonesia, the stories in BOBO were always well-written and they had colorful pictures in better quality compare to their (at the time) competitor Kawanku magazine. BOBO is published by Indonesia's largest publishing company KOMPAS-GRAMEDIA, little did I know that BOBO is international children magazine which is published also in Netherlands. I surprised when I found BOBO in the ING office last Saturday, love you BOBO. XOXO

Sweet Little Things

Berlin-Dresden-Vienna-Prague-Bratislava-Budapest-Krakow, seven cities and six countries I visited during the summer and these were little things I bought for myself. We went travel mostly by bus and stayed at cheap hostels so it wasn't wise to be shopaholic no matter how much you want to.

I bought the Kennedy pin and fridge magnet with pink Berlin wall rocks on it in Berlin. In Dresden I only bought drinks ;P, it was so hot when we were there. The magnet with Bratislava-Slovakia I got from the same place. The accessory box (cannot shown in the photo) which hold all knickknacks along with beautifully crafted matches box and antique necklaces, I bought in the last city we visited, Krakow.

Old Town Bratislava

Welcome to the south bank of Danube river. Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia. There used to be one country called Czechslovakia? Well, they now parted into Czech with its capital Prague and Slovakia with its capital Bratislava. Slovakia maybe too low profile compare to their ex-half, Czech and its Prague. But just as captive. From dark history of repression on the Jew (dark is underrated word actually, to describe it) to its antique central European air of its old town. Leaving behind the reminiscent history on the right place (for tourism aside of valuable lesson), I take that the Slovakian governments were serious in building their country. This small central European nation has already adopt Euro as their currency, leaving behind the twin sister Czech and an unexpected clean toilet can even be found in their international bus terminal. Unfortunately I couldn't say much about the hostel we picked ;(.

My 2nd Time in Vienna

Ouie Prague!

Prague name is derived from an old Slavic root, praga, which means “ford”, referring to the city's origin at a crossing point of the Vltava River. The native name of the city, Praha is also related to the modern Czech word práh(threshold) and a legendary etymology connects the name of the city with Duchess Libuše, prophetess and a wife of mythical founder of the Přemyslid dynasty. Who is said to have ordered the city "to be built where a man hews a threshold of his house". The Czech práhmight thusly referred to rapids or a cataract in the river, the edge of which could have acted as a means of fording the river – thus providing a "threshold" to the castle.
